Reasons 248-260 To Always Have Your Camera Handy:

My ravelry Project 365 submission today. One of our themes this week was:

Extra Credit: If a picture is worth a Thousand Words how many can you find?
One day this week, March 26th, music and poetry seems to shine on. Find a perfect mix of a few lines of verse and one of your images to make these men proud.

1827 Ludwig Van Beethoven-Composer died
1859 A.E. Housman-poet born
1874 Robert Frost-poet born
1892 Walt Whitman-poet died
1911 Tennessee Williams-poet born

I'm not big on classical music (although I have a few favorites) and I'm even less interested in poetry. The only *poem* I really know is the one by Joyce Kilmer about trees, but since I'm ALWAYS taking pictures of the great outdoors, this one wasn't hard to do.

Mike - happy to give a sample

(Yes. I hate that he wears that shirt in public!)

Cool use of the hat brim

How do you give up six vials of blood?

Why, one at a time, of course!

All Done!

The nurse (phlebotomist [sp?]) was SO nice and actually pretty funny!

A huge Thank You to Suzanne for seeing Mike today.

Between Bakersfield and Porterville

Poor guy was tilling on a Sunday afternoon

Yuck! I hate nature!

This guy crashed my photog moment outside of El Torito in Bakersfield.

Some kind of flower,

also outside of El Torito

We had a late lunch in Bakersfield

(well, The Mike did. He's aways eating, lol)

Suzanne, next time you drive by the El Torito there, these are those flowers by the sign

Holy Fucking Crap, People! Check this out!

We got back to Porterville and The Mike made a pit stop at the Starbucks by our house.

While he was inside getting his StarCrack (tm)

I was sitting in the car reviewing all the pictures I had taken.

All of a sudden, there was a HUGE-ASS crash sound!

I look over and a car is kind of crumpled in it's front end.

While I'm watching it slowly roll backwards,

a fucking light pole from the median

comes slamming down onto the top of the vehicle

and blowing out the back glass.

BLAM!

That fucking fast things changed for the driver of that car.

Unbelievable.

Day 49 - Shake'n It

Day 49 - Shake'n It, originally uploaded by ajdury.

This picture represents a few things:

My first WALK.

WALK people! Not hobbling or limping or wimpering along.

I walked as excitedly as 'Scilly here!

Not so excitedly that I sniffed every hydrant or peed on every corner pole though. Unlike her, I care about what the neighbors whisper behind their hands.

Okay. You got me. I give a fuck what they say. I really care about them parking on their lawns and parking their semi's on our residential streets. That's just me.

Those two butts though? Crack my ass UP.

Is it just me or do you also hear the "Left. Left. Left , (wag to the) Right, Left" cadence in your head.

No? Okay fine then.

Day 28 of 365:

I will be revisiting this idea.

Day 27 of 365:

Day 26 of 365:

I had to take a HEEE-UGE step back in the 'ol Recovery Process the other day.

The choices were 1) step full-force on The Queen of the Velvet TumTums* 2) slo-mo all Matrix-like while trying to avoid stepping on the GoodGawdDamn cat.

If you answered #2 . . . Oh Hell No. I stepped right on Blue.

That part didn't hurt my foot though. It was the dance steps right after, where I dosey-doe-d over her and did something Not Good (tm) to my brokenassed foot.

Grrr.

I was so worried that I had re-injured it. There was the hopping and the crutch using and the general elevatedness with icy coolness.

Luckily, it's all good and back on the road to recovery, so don't shed a crocodile tear on my behalf.

(*every one of pets has at LEAST 7 alternate names. Blue is "Blue" "Blueski" "BooBoo" "The Boo-ster" "Blue-cephus" . . . and now "Queen of the Velvet TumTums" thanks to her supersoft and sweet belly that hasn't grown back it's hair yet.)

Yeah.

Retarded.

Us.

We know.

Day 25 of 365:

My camera does Panoramic and this is a feature I'll be playing with more soon.

Day 23 of 365:

I was so frigg'n lost when I crested Lewis Hill. I'd never heard the term "Lewis Hill" until I told The Mike I 'went over this tall hill going North and then I crested and looked over a 'scape that made no sense!"

"Oh. You went over Lewis Hill".

Fuck the What? Lewis Hill? Never heard of it! My town is the size of a postage stamp, but I realize every day there are things I have no clue about.

I'm learning though.

Day 21 of 365:

One of the ravelry Project365 members (StudioD) has been giving 'weekly themes' for us to (or not to) use. One of last week's themes was 'time'. My attempt at the theme SUCKS ON ICE. I submitted it as proof of my mere human status.
