Damn that Culpepper:

Looks like *somebody* had a huge point to make against Miami today. Fucker. That last TD by him was just for spite. Fuck you and your knee, ass. Yeah, my team lost. Fucking fuckers. God I love football!!!

As for the knitting, I actually got some done so far today. I started out continuing work on my 1st sock out of Jollyewe's yarn, but it didn't take long until I was at the 'do or die' part of the toe. *shivers* The daunting Kitchener stitch. There was no way in hell I could do my very first Kitchener AND watch the game. So that was shelved for now.

Then I was stuck scrambling for another project to get onto. I grabbed the yarn earmarked for the Crusoe socks, but then I couldn't find needles for it. Scrap that.

See, I'm part of a Football-along AND a member of the Holiday Knits group over at ravelry, so I'm trying to combine the two by knitting only Christmas presents during football.

Last year the whole famdamnily got My So Called scarves out of Malabrigo - just different colors. This year most of them are getting socks. Well, the ones I'm willing to continue giving handknits to. Some of them can go get their own damn socks from SquallMart for all I care. Handknit ingrates.

So - since I couldn't find enough of any one size of small dpns to start socks I grabbed the yarns I have earmarked for my 1st Coronet (it's destined for holiday gifting anyway, so what the hay), and enough circs and dpns in the required sizes to get going.

Cast on and got one entire repeat done by halftime.

By the end of the game I think I'm up to 5 total repeats.

I have to admit that I do not understand the construction of cables. Ohhh, I can DO them - that's not it. I do not understand how 'the magic' happens. I get 'the magic' of entrelac, and 'the magic' of turning a heel, but cables? How does that shit really work? If I could understand that, I could probably lose my dependence on reading the pattern EVERY frigg'n row! Tedious, man.

Now it's time to watch the Colts. Maybe I'll get the entire 'headband' part of the hat done before tonight's game. Oh, and I think somewhere in all this football gift knitting going on 'round these parts there's supposed to something called "Laundry So You Don't Go To Work Naked Tomorrow" and "Feed Husband So He Doesn't Leave You For Black Bear Diner".

(this uploading crap is rediculously slow right now).
